School of Satchel New Styles + SOS Pledges

If you're looking for functional, good quality, proudly Pinoy made bags, then look no more! I present to you guys SCHOOL of SATCHEL. :) The School of satchel is known for their handcrafted leather bags made from genuine Philippine cowhide. Here are new styles they recently launched!

SAM All-Leather Backpack

Unisex. Measures 18"x 10.5" x 3". It's ideal for students or professionals who wants to upgrade their casual wardrobe with a classic & sophisticated statement piece. Fully lined with suede and has a compartment for laptops.

PABLO Messenger Bag

Bestseller that measures 15" x 10.5" x 3".Features an interior compartment for laptops, push lock closure and full suede lining.

What I love most about School of Satchel is how they support the Philippine local industry by using Filipino leather and manufacturing. Plus, they are so charitable!:) SOS PLEDGES, The School of Satchel’s community service program, is a proud partner of the Cartwheel Foundation, Inc. (www.cartwheelfoundation.org) in successfully sponsoring Nylyn Supnet, 20, to Pamulaan Center for Indigenous Peoples’ Education in Mintal, Davao City. The school is dedicated to the education of indigenous people (IP) in the Philippines.

According to Nylyn, “Being poor is not a valid reason for not attaining your goals in life”. Nylyn’s tribe, the Higaonon from Malaybalay, nominated her for the Young IP Leaders Program and Nylyn is now on her graduating year at the school. The main thrust of the program is to groom future community leaders and equip tribe adults with knowledge and skills to face challenges of the modern world and participate in community building.

The Cartwheel Foundation is a non-profit organization that seeks to give indigenous communities a future through quality and culturally relevant education. It sees a nation where indigenous`s Filipino people can exercise their right to have quality education and active participation in community life.

Now on its third year, SOS Pledges is funded by proceeds of the The School of Satchel’s sales.

To find out more about the Cartwheel Foundation and how you can help, contact Nanette Santos, current Managing Trustee at action@cartwheelfoundation.org. :)

Tony & Jackey's Korean City Style Collection by L'oreal Professionnel

Was browsing through folders in my laptop when I saw photos from our hair transformation session weeks ago by Tony & Jackey, Makati c/o Loreal. Best in late post! Sareeeeh. Anyway, here it is finally! The best hair collaboration so far, Loreal Professionnel x Tony & Jackey's Korean City Style Collection! Read on why it's the best so far AAAAAND my big epic fail. Lol. Photos!

The different Korean hair styles we were asked to try: Hong Dae, Gangnam and Busan!

Busan Style– An artsy, romantic, and Bohemian vibe Bubble Perm look inspired by the cultural and artistic city of Busan,.

Gangnam Style- a glamour chic see-through glam perm look that can easily blend into the trendy parts of the city that is inspired by the richest district in Seoul.

Hong Dae Style– a youthful and cute pop perm look inspired by the trendy and funky vibe of Hong Dae. Each trendy style is reflective of the district that has its own distinctive style, from clothes to hair to attitude that would best suit any type of Filipina and her personality.

The place was packed with bloggers when I got there. But they assigned someone agad to assist me and take care of my hair needs!:)

They shampooed my hair and then the owner and senior hairstylist assessed it. In the end they decided not to perm it coz of the extensive damage from all the hair coloring and perming it endured in the past. Break it to me gently pa drama nila. Love it. Nahiya ako. Haha! But I appreciate their honesty talaga. I love that they want to make sure one's hair is healthy and ready before they touch it. Good job!:) They were kind enough to give me advice and asked me to come back after 3 months after treatments. Can't wait to try their perming service soon! Saw amazing results from fellow bloggers nainggit ako!:)

 So they just offered treatment...

And then they offered to cut it to get rid of split ends:)

They also styled it! Love! Styling was similar to my original hair style choice, Gangnam:)

me with my favorite girls, Ava and Tracy, who both looked amazing! Ava chose Busan, Tracy chose Gangnam:)

After our bonggang hair transformation, the pampering didn't end there! We were escorted to the makeup station c/o MAYBELLINE!

 All made up:)

we love our hairs! and our makeup of course. :)

us with Tony & Jackey VP Mr. Sky!:)

Treats were alse served. Yummy cupcakes by Baker Street!

Loreal products you can buy from Tony & Jackey:)

Thanks again Loreal and Tony & Jackey!:)

Of course, after perming you have to maintain your tresses. Use these products from L'oreal Professionnel to achieve amazing hair everyday!:)

Working on my Day 2 Singapore post, but I'm not yet done sorting and editing photos. So for now, outfit photos from that day!:) When you're in another country, do you also have this urge to reprezent (yes, z talaga para mas feel) your hometown? I do. And I sometimes do it through the clothes I wear! There are a lot of Pinoys working in Singapore and I love how they light up and smile and chat with me of course, whenever they find out I'm also Pinoy. It's surprising coz I'm often mistaken as Viet or Thai. Weird. Photos!

Team Manila shirt, Greenhills shorts, Mango cap

Romwe bag, Stylized Manila brown leather bracelet, Envy yellow wrap bracelet, Meister watch

SMDepstore sneakers

I wanted to wear a dress but I realized it might not be the best idea when you are to ride a roller coaster. So I went for the ever reliable shirt-shorts-sneakers combo:) Easy breezy covergirl lang. Haha. And the cap! It's best to bring a cap when you're going somewhere hot. So you can hide your sweaty bumbunan and still look fresh. Haha. And share ko lang that I bought my pink sneakers for just P250. Oha! Haha.

The shirt from Team Manila is from their men's collection. Got it in Large so I could also wear it as a mini dress. I want my shirts loose. I have a few more Team Manila pieces to post so abangan. You guys should check out their stores, lots of cool stuff talaga. Plus, they just launched their Andres Bonifacio designs!:)

That's it for now! Gotta sleep. Early pa tomorrow for ASAP. Hope you're all having an amazing weekend:)

That's from the song "I love It" by Icona Pop ha! Just saying. Hehe. Here's an outfit post on a rainy Tuesday night. Sumabay pa talaga tong no ka-cuddle cuddle weather. Pfft. As some of you may know, may pinagdadaanan ako. Haha. But you know, nothing a bowl (or okay gallon talaga) of ice cream can't fix. Oh well papel. Anyway, met up with blog friends last week over meryenda (wasn't able to make it to the BU team ice skating party coz of work) and then late dinner (bilang hell ang traffic) at the newly opened YABU, SM North. In fairness, namiss ko mag event! But more than that, I super missed my blog girlfriends and boyfriend (Paul)! We had fun as always as in sabog levels sa laughtrip. Photos!

photos by Tracy Ayson. Love you girlfriend!
Forever 21 statement shirt, Thrifted plaid shirt, shorts & boots, The Ramp necklace, Casio watch, Dooney & Bourke bag

I had pullouts before meeting up with them. Of course, work will always come first. I wanted to wear something pullout ready. Meaning fasyon, something I feel confident in, mukhang legit stylist (lels), and easy breezy. Okay I admit, I got inspired by our shoot's theme Grunge Glam! Pero yung sakin grunge lang. Haha.

Also had a mini photo-op with my style mates that day, Sarah & Kelly!
our take on uber casual wear. Haha.

In other news, I'm getting my 3rd tattoo this week! Or next week. Depends on Whiplash. So exciteeed. Warning: Getting tattoed is highly addictive. I don't know why. But don't worry, I make sure all my designs have meaning. One of them says "Peace, Faith, Love" (symbols), the other says "Believe" in Sanskrit. My next one will say "Vita Dulcis" (sweet life in Latin) and a 4-leaf clover (for luck). :)  I think I can't ever try body piercing though. Can you??? Have you??? If you already have one or several, then you better check out beautiful body jewelries from Fresh Trends.  It's classy, not trashy!:)

Went to the Sonic Boom anniversary party at Eastwood Citywalk last Friday with my cousins and my love Tin. Thanks Niche for the backstage passes!:)

I am finally ALMOST settled in my new apartment! Woot. I still have a few boxes to unpack but thank God for friends and family who helped me through and through. It's my 1st time to really live alone, bills and all, and I'm more excited & hopeful than scared. That's a good sign noh?:) I know it's not exactly ideal to go after your dreams, find yourself and work on your priorities this late (hirap maging 25! Joke, 30 nako), but you know it's never too late. :) Anyway, here are outfit photos taken by the uber talented Tin Iglesias (my love) from our super fun and wild blog kada Makati staycation!:)

Romwe yellow dress, Girl Shoppe belt, Police watch, Dooney & Burke bag, New You gold ballet flats

Been keeping this pretty dress for weeks now. Was waiting for the perfect event or occasion before taking it out for a spin. But my moving to a new apartment made me decide to finally wear it bilang I boxed and sealed all my clothes and I had nothing to pack and wear to our staycation. Haha.

hello new home! 2 bedroom na and bigger:)

converted the smaller room to a walk-in closet! so happy!:)

Also dropped by the  Manila Sundance Bazaar after our #makatistaycation! Photos on my next post. But for now, heading out! Have to buy more stuff for the apartment. Moving may be a bitch but it's all worth it. Love you all!

How to Look Smart and Sexy for Your Everyday Business Meeting

0
0
Dressing for work can be a potential minefield. Unless you always opt to wear a dark color suit, you are at risk of showing up in inappropriate attire. However, wearing the same kind of suit every day can get tedious and you will eventually begin to feel unsatisfied with how you look. The way to prevent this is to change things up every now and then while still looking professional. Here are a few ways to dress smart when you are out on business!

1. Substitute the coat with a blazer or sports jacket

You do not always have to wear your coat with the rest of the suit. If you want, you can try switching things up by replacing it with a blazer or a sports jacket. These give you more variety while still looking good and professional. In terms of color, something dark is traditional, but also lighter tones of brown and blue are acceptable.

2. Wear khakis

Khakis are classified as being business casual so, if you think that this is appropriate for whatever meetings you have, then feel free to choose them instead of a suit. The best part is that they are a viable choice for men and women. However, they do get wrinkled easily, so be sure that they are pressed before wearing them.

3. Wear polo shirts

If you are going with the blazer or sports jacket option, then you can match them with a sexy polo shirt. Usually, you should avoid using colors that are too bold, but you can wear shirts with stripes or dots that represent a nice color combination.

.

In terms of shoes, you can go with something that looks professional yet still feels comfortable, like the shoes available at www.soleprovisions.com.  If you visit www.soleprovisions.com, you will discover a large collection of stylish, comfy, and accessible products to suit your needs. :)

Best in late talaga ako sa post and sa event itseeeeelf. Yeees. Me already. But! Better late than never ever!:) Went to the Instax Mini 90 launch at Cerchio Resto Tomas Morato last month. I didn't make it to the program but I was still able to join in the fun! Picture picture galore. I was able to grab photos from the clingys though. So here it is! Guys, meet my future jowa. Haha.

Presenting... The new Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic!

Fell in love with it in an instant. You all know how much I love anything classic, retro or vintage. So this one's really a winner! Love the classic black & silver color and the boxy design, reminds me of the vintage cameras I use during my vintage themed prenuptial shoots! :) It has amazing features that you might switch from digicam to instax na. Angela of Lush Angel rounded it up for you and me!

  • High performance flash- helps optimize the exposure
  • Party mode- enables the background as well as the subject to be captured brightly
  • Kids mode- helpful to capture fast moving subjects like children and animals
  • Landscape mode- best suited to target a distant subject
  • Brightness control-add a low-key or high-key effect by controlling the brightness of photos
  • Macro mode- lets you enjoy stunning close-up photography
  • Bulb exposure mode- In bulb exposure mode, the shutter remains open (up to 10 seconds) while the shutter button is depressed, enabling photo capture that shows attractive night views and light streaks. You can take expressive photos, with more fun added to instax photography.
  • Double exposure mode- By selecting the double exposure mode and pressing the shutter button twice, you can superimpose two different images in one frame to create an artistic photo. Show your creativity with a unique photo.
  • Mode dial- By rotating the dial, you can switch modes and functions while looking through the viewfinder.
  • Battery- A rechargeable battery is used.
  • Tripod socket- can be attached to a tripod giving it stability, especially important when using the double exposure or bulb mode
  • Self-Timer function - yahooo!

Are you sold na? Coz I am!!! It retails for P8, 980. It's totally worth it!:) There's so much you could do with it so get ready to bring out the artsy in you.

Late Post: TOBY's #ItStartsHere Event + Preview's PEFTA 2013

TOBY's launched their new logo, store design, #ItStartsHere campaign and new ambassadors last September at SM Aura!:) I would never consider myself a "sporty" person, the only sports activity I ever participated in was cheerleading when I was in St. Scho. Is that even counted? Haha. Well, I took softball (P.E.) in UST and I sucked haha. Oh! And I shoot good hoops at Timezone. Lol. But I do visit TOBY's once in a while whenever I need new rubber shoes or sneakers (bought my favorite cream colored Converse there after the event) or when I need tools for exercising like dumbbells, etc. They pretty much carry everything that's sports related. It's every sports fanatic's haven. Going back to the event!

Owner Toby Claudio!

behind every great athlete is Tobys! It all starts here (there)!

event host Chesca Litton. who came from Watsons! Galeng.

New ambassadors PBA MVP James Yap, Amazing De La Salle lady spiker Michelle Gumabao  and Neil Etheridge of the Philippine AZKALS.

Toby Claudion with James Yap and Mich Gumabao
jampacked!

Marc Vinas, Jojo Claudio, Bobby Claudio, Rod Claudio and Alvin Patrimonio

PBA Team Rose, Bobby Claudio, Tim Cone, Alvin Patrimonio
So let's all give a little more value to our healths by venturing into sports or fitness nalang if you're like me. Hehe. Toby's will forever be there to support, encourage and guide you through their top quality brands and products. ;)

thanks Toby's for our all our new kicks!

PREVIEW PEFTA 2013
I have high regards in Filipino's talent that I always get excited whenever I hear of new designers or new designs. So of course I had to go to PEFTA - Preview's Emerging Fashion Talent Awards! It is that time of the year when budding new designers are chosen and presented by Preview Magazine. Each of them has to make a 6-pc collection for exhibit.:)

5 Students from Preview Partner Schools (Slims, SOFA, FIP):

1)Pristine de Guzman - With the aerodynamics of sports cars as inspiration, she brings air movement into her collection through geometric design elements of the garments.
2) Geoffrey Zordilla - played with various tints and shades to portray the flow of sea waves in his dresses.
3)
Bea Samson - exhibits a life in transit as she captured images of city lights and moving vehicles and used these as a print for her handiwork.
4) Kevin del Poso - merges the static and the movement of photography in the dresses he created.
5) Tony Evan - made an oriental-themed collection with textures and shapes reminiscent of dragons, lanterns and salmon roe.

5 Up-and-Coming Designers:

1) Alexandra Cheng - combines stillness and movement with a hint of androgyny in her collection.
2)
Marian Zara Madayag - Artful designs, with curve lines and attractive prints.
3) Bien Santiago of Yuminum Bikinis - introduced the movement of wind into her swimwear.
4) Adante Leyesa's creation feature Philippine wildlife.
5) Neeresh, Sureen and Reshnee Bhagwandas aka the DAS sisters behind the shoe brand that featured butterfly designs for this preview collection.

Congrats Preview for a successful event! So proud of our new designers too!:)

Channeling Blair

Blair Eadie that is, better known as Miss Atlantic-Pacific, my #1 favorite blogger! Love her flair and her extraordinary talent in mixing and matching clothes. She can pull off any look with finesse and class. Got inspired by one of her looks! This is my version!:) Expect more of this! I just love love love her. This was also what I wore to the Watsons, Tobys and PEFTA event. :)

Thrifted striped top, Mango jumper dress, Police watch, Stylized Manila bracelet, Suiteblanco bag & leopard ballet flats

Was thinking of ways on how to wear this denim jumper pencil dress (which I got on sale at a Mango outlet store in Bacolod) and  got the perfect inspiration! Woot. Will wear this with white polo and heels naman next. :) Accessorized with a garterized belt I bought from Girl Shoppe and instead of red flats or heels, went for leopard print! Wala lang trip lng. Haha. That's all thank you. Unlike Blair though, I could never fix my hair the way she does. I could only dream bilang I don't have the talent or patience. Oh well!

It's already 6am and I'm still up! Watching American Horror Story in my old room at Marikina. Spending my weekend with the fam. I can wake up super late later. Yahoo. More more posts lateeer. Love you all!

Every Filipina - Mestiza, Morena or Chinita - can now be prouder of her color! Filipinas deserve to have their beauty brought out and developed the best way possible. As the leading provider of hair color in the Philippine salon industry, it is L’Oreal Professionnel’s advocacy to be able to provide all Filipinas the best hair color that suits their skintone best.

This is why they launched the Wear Your Color Proud Campaign! This collaborative effort will also make the client feel more comfortable over her decision, giving her a boost of confidence and satisfaction.

With a healthy mix of different kinds of Filipinas in its roster of talents, L'Oreal Professionnel partnered with Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP). L’Oreal Professionnel mounted a beauty and fashion shoot with non-other than Photographer Sara Black and Fashion Designer and Project Runway Philippines alumna Milka Quin.
